COLLECTIONS

Afrocentrism

SS25

The Afrocentrism collection was born out of a desire to challenge the dominant narratives of luxury and heritage in fashion. The goal was to re-center West Africa; not as a trend, but as a foundation, and a creative powerhouse. The collection was inspired by ancestral pride and cultural memory. Growing up surrounded by stories, fabrics, and traditions passed down through generations, I became deeply aware of the silent power woven into every stitch of the traditional handwoven fabric from Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria. The name ‘’Aso Oke’’ in Yoruba means ‘’top cloth’’ or ‘’cloth or high status’’ associated with royalty and cultural identity.
Every piece in the collection is crafted to reflect resilience. The silhouettes challenges Western conventions while remaining rooted in African form and function. The inspiration behind the cowries in the collection is a representation of pre-colonial wealth and sovereignty. Cowrie shells were once used as currency across much of West Africa, long before colonial systems imposed Western economies. By incorporating cowries into the pieces, I’m reconnecting with that legacy as they also evoke a sense of regality and elegance, but in a distinctly African context.
The Spring Summer collection celebrates African heritage with a modern twist, reimagining the rich tradition of Aso-Oke in contemporary silhouettes. Inspired by the resilience and elegance of African craftsmanship, the collection blends cultural authenticity with bold, modern tailoring. Featuring Aso-Oke jackets, shorts, caps, cargo pants, tunics, waistcoats and structured blazers, each piece embodies the essence of Afrocentric pride while embracing the breezy sophistication of warm-weather fashion. The collection fuses vibrant hues and sleek cuts, creating a statement of power, identity, and timeless style.
Designed for the modern, fashion-forward individual who honours tradition while embracing the future, the collection is a bold declaration of African excellence in global fashion. Afrocentrism, as a collection, is not a costume, but a statement. It’s an ode to Black excellence, to centuries of silent genius, and to a future in which African design leads not as an alternative, but as the standard. It’s for the woman or man who doesn’t just wear fashion, but wears their identity.

Sartorial Elegance

SS24

Global cultural shifts have influenced the acceptance of more casual suit styles. Hybrid suits both for formal and casual outings, tech-integrated suits with functionality for devices and sustainable fabrics will dictate future fashion. Not just about aesthetics, but also a reflection of societal shifts and personal expressions.
The Sartorial Elegance collection stands as a testament to how global cultural currents have reshaped the way we perceive formalwear. It embodies a progressive shift in menswear; one that transcends rigid structure in favour of a more relaxed yet refined aesthetic. Drawing from cosmopolitan influences and the growing global appetite for comfort without compromise, the collection infuses suiting with a distinct sensibility, resulting in pieces that are both timeless and thoroughly modern.
At the heart of this collection are varicoloured suit; blazers, trousers, trench coat. Each piece rendered in a rich spectrum of hues that speaks to the brand’s fearless embrace of colour and form. The detailing visible in clever pocket placements, fluid cuts, and hidden fastenings reflects a meticulous dedication to sartorial excellence. The color palette plays a pivotal role in distinguishing the collection.

Rather than relying on conventional neutrals, we chose shades that feel both unexpected and purposeful from sea foam green, slate grey, ivory, burgundy, dusty brown and aqua blue. These tones imbue the garments with a painterly quality, turning each outfit into a statement. The interplay of colours, textures, and silhouettes elevates every piece into a nonpareil work of art, commanding attention while still inviting intimacy.

Afro minimalism

SS23

Afro Minimalism emerges as a quiet revolution in fashion. A cultural and aesthetic movement that speaks volumes through restraint, discipline, and meaning. Rooted in the ethos of deliberate simplicity, it forgoes the excesses of ornamentation often expected of African-inspired fashion, choosing instead to channel power through pared-down silhouettes, evocative fabrics, and an unapologetic clarity of form. It defies the often homogenised and Westernised interpretations of African fashion that have long been filtered through a lens of appropriation. In contrast, it offers a vision curated and crafted entirely by Black creators, who articulate their stories, aesthetics, and cultural memory on their own terms. Through fashion, design, visual art, and cultural discourse, Afro Minimalism reconnects the average Black man to his essence, stripped of societal expectation, and imbued with quiet strength and subtle elegance.

The models embody a relaxed yet purposeful presence in the woods echoing the grace of lived experience and authenticity. The pairing of the black top with vibrant Ankara print shorts invites a quiet narrative of introspection and cultural expression. Rich in texture and adorned with bold patterns, Ankara -a fabric deeply rooted in African identity adds depth and storytelling to even the simplest ensemble.
Afro Minimalism is more than an aesthetic; it is a vision. A cultural assertion. A soulful, forward-looking interpretation of African design that honours its past while embracing its future, one intentional line, fabric, and form at a time.
